A New Chapter

I'm finally back from my very long social media / blogging break — Yay! I feel like I always say that past months / years have been a rollercoaster of emotions but nothing prepared me for the last month. Honestly, I have never been through so many highs and lows in such a short period of time so I decided I needed some breathing space from my blog / social media to get my life sorted out.

I didn't want to pretend on social media that everything was all rosy and great. It really wasn't and the time away helped me to focus on myself without feeling the pressure of creating the perfect instagram feed or writing my latest blog post. I'm really excited to be back to blogging. It's my little space to escape and ramble on about my life and the things I'm loving. Going ahead, I really want to concentrate and spend some more time building my blog into a space that I am really happy with.

I want to use this blog post as a little catch up on what I've been up to and share some exciting changes that are coming up in the very near future. So what have I been up to in the past month?

The first little bit of exciting news is that I finished my first big freelance job for Orchid. At the end of last year I started designing their new menu layout and it was released a few weeks ago. It is so exciting to see it in use and photos of it pop up on social media!

During February, I decided to start getting serious about finding myself a job that I would be truly happy in — namely a design job. After travelling back and forth to both Glasgow and Edinburgh a number of times and getting a couple of knock-backs I am really happy to say that I've managed to get a job as a Junior Designer in a design agency in Glasgow! So the floral elephant and myself will be packing our bags and moving back home in the next couple of weeks — eek! I am so excited to start this new chapter of my life and finally have a job that I'll enjoy going to everyday. Also, goodbye boring old uniform and hello new work wardrobe!!! It's going to be such a strange new chapter as I have spent my almost all of my adult life in Aberdeen so I think being back in Glasgow will take some getting used to. There are so many great people up here that I am going to miss terribly — honestly, I don't know what I'm going to do without them! But with so many exciting changes ahead I am really looking forward to this new adventure and I'm going to try my best to keep it all documented on here and on social media.

Here's to an exciting new chapter!
